One open waterfront room that splits into sections for 15 to 220 guests, with the skyline across the water, shareable bites, crushable spritzes and raw bar staples.
How our space works
La Tavernetta doesn’t have a closed-door private dining room. What we have is better for most parties: three distinct areas, the Dining Room, the Bar and the Patio, and each one divides into smaller sections.
Book a single section and the rest of the restaurant stays open around you. Book a whole area and it’s yours alone. Book all three and you have the house.
Individual sections can hold 15 to 80 guests. A full buyout hosts up to 220 for a reception, with the patio in season.
Our Spaces
Every space below can be reserved on its own. Seated means a sit-down lunch or dinner; standing means a cocktail-style reception with passed and stationary bites.
The Dining Room
Seated 16–30 | Year-round
Floor-to-ceiling windows on the harbor, the skyline across the water, and long tables built for family-style platters. This space is ideal for seated lunches, brunches, and dinners, wedding rehearsals, milestone birthdays, or casual business events.

The Bar
Standing up to 70 | Year-round
The casual end of the room: a 24-seat bar, a drink rail along the windows, the game on, spritzes by the round. Best for cocktail-style receptions with passed and stationary bites, raw bar staples and our signature spritzes. Take a hightop pocket for a small group or the whole bar for a party.

The Patio

A sprawling harborside patio made up of three distinct spaces, from daybeds and lounge seating to waterfront dining tables, all facing the skyline. Book one patio for a cozy cocktail hour, another patio for a seated dinner or sunset reception, or all three together. Treat your guests to the best views in Boston.

We don’t have a private dining room, so for a completely private event we close the doors and the house is yours. A cocktail reception followed by a seated family-style or prix-fixe dinner, a dinner buffet, or a full reception with passed appetizers and raw bar displays. Company holiday parties, weddings, launches, the big birthday. The 220 figure includes the patio; ask us about indoor-only capacity for winter dates.

FAQs
Do you host holiday parties?
Yes. We host holiday dinners, cocktail parties and full buyouts for groups of 15 and up, with the Boston skyline lit up across the harbor. Family-style menus from the raw bar and the grill are tailored to your headcount and budget. Weekend dates in December go quickly, so start an event inquiry early.
Where can I park?
Limited 2-hour street parking nearby (Lewis, Marginal, S. Bremen, Sumner, Orleans) and a limited number of validated spots in the garage directly behind us. Two-minute walk from Maverick on the Blue Line.
Can our group order off of the a la carte menu rather than a large party menu?
For parties of 15 guests and more, we kindly ask that you select from one of our family-style or prix-fixe menu options to ensure service runs smoothly throughout your event.
Can La Tavernetta accommodate allergies or dietary restrictions?
We can accommodate most allergies and dietary restrictions, such as gluten-free, celiac, nut and seafood allergies, dairy-free, and vegan restrictions. Our event specialists can work with you to determine how we can meet any of these requests.
What are the menu options for groups?
Seated dinners are prix-fixe or family-style with a mix of raw bar and grill, fully customizable with your event specialist. Receptions are passed and stationary bites, a raw bar display if you want it, and spritz and wine packages. To get started on menu planning, complete an event inquiry.
Is the patio available in winter?
The patio is open-air with no heaters, so it books April through October, weather permitting. The Dining Room and Bar are year-round.
What about a table for 9 to 14?
Large parties under 15 don’t need an event contract. Call (617) 600-8922 and we’ll set the table.
